Apple Dumplings - Cock N' Bull Recipe - Cooking Index
6 cups | 1422ml | Apples - peeled and cored (medium) |
6 oz | 170g | Pie dough - (see recipe) |
1/2 tablespoon | 7.5ml | Cinnamon |
12 tablespoons | 180ml | Sugar |
1 | Egg |
Mix cinnamon and sugar together in a small bowl. Combine egg with 2 tbsp. water. Place an apple in the center of each pie dough square. Fill the center of each apple with 2 tbsp. of cinnamon sugar.
Wrap the pie crust squares around each apple, use some of the beaten egg to help secure the dough corners at the top. Place the apples in a pan large enough to hold them 1" apart. Bake at 400F for about 10 minutes.
Reduce temperature to 350Fand bake for 25 minutes or until apples are soft. Cool to warm, top each apple with 1/4 cup of vanilla sauce and serve immediately.
