Apple Crunch Dessert Recipe - Cooking Index
1 cup | 62g / 2.2oz | Quick cooking rolled oats |
1/2 cup | 20g / 0.7oz | Whole bran cereal |
1/3 cup | 20g / 0.7oz | Whole wheat flour |
1/3 cup | 53g / 1.9oz | Brown sugar - packed |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Baking soda |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Cinnamon |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Nutmeg |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Ginger |
1/2 cup | 99g / 3.5oz | Butter or margarine |
1 | Regular butterscotch pudding - mix, 4 oz pkg. | |
1 1/4 cups | 296ml | Milk |
22 oz | 625g | Apple pie filling |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Finely shredded lemon peel |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Lemon juice |
Mix oats, cereal, flour, sugar, soda and spices. Cut in butter or margarine until crumbly. Pat half the mixture into a 8x8x2 inch baking dish.
Bake in 350F oven 10 minutes. Prepare pudding mix according to package directions except use the 1 1/2 cups milk. Pour over crumb layer.
Mix remaining ingredients; spoon over pudding. Top with remaining crumbs. Bake, uncovered, in 350F oven 30 to 35 minutes. Serve warm or cool with ice cream, if desired.
