Apple Bread Recipe - Cooking Index
1/2 cup | 99g / 3.5oz | Margarine |
1 cup | 198g / 7oz | Sugar |
2 | Eggs - beaten | |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Milk |
2 cups | 125g / 4.4oz | Flour |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Baking soda |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Vanilla |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Salt |
2 cups | 292g / 10oz | Chopped - peeled apples |
Topping | ||
4 tablespoons | 60ml | Sugar |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Flour |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Butter - melted |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Cinnamon |
Cream together margarine and sugar. Add eggs, milk, vanilla and stir. Sift together dry ingredients and add to wet ingredients in small incrèments. Add apples; stir. Pour into greased loaf pan, sprinkle with topping.
To make topping - Melt butter. Combine dry ingredients. Mix well with fork until crumbly. Bake bread at 325F for 1 hour or until top is firm when pressed.
