Small-Game Barbecue Sauce Recipe - Cooking Index
1 | Tomato puree - (16 oz) | |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Catsup |
2 cups | 474ml | Water |
4 tablespoons | 60ml | Vinegar |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Worcestershire sauce |
4 | Bacon strips - diced | |
2 | Onions - diced (large) | |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Brown sugar |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Prepared mustard |
Salt - to taste | ||
Freshly-ground black pepper - to taste |
Combine All ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until sauce thickens, stirring occasionally. This freezes well. Cook game about halfway (bake, broil, or roast); then add it to warmed sauce and simmer for about 1 hour.
This recipe yields enough sauce to dress 3 to 4 pounds of meat, to serve 6 or 8.
