Homemade Biscuit Mix Recipe - Cooking Index
1 3/4 cups | 109g / 3.8oz | All-purpose flour |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Baking powder |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Sugar |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Salt |
1/3 cup | 65g / 2.3oz | Shortening |
In a bowl stir together flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Store in airtight container for up to 6 weeks at room temperature or for up to 6 months in the freezer. Use to make Cherry Apple Cobbler and Cornmeal Biscuits (the recipes for which are included in this collection). If frozen, bring mix to room temperature before using.
This recipes yields about 2 1/4 cups of mix.
