Texas Table Sauce For Barbecue Recipe - Cooking Index
3/4 cup | 177ml | Cider vinegar |
3/4 cup | 177ml | Warm water |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Salt |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Coarsely ground pepper |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Hungarian ground paprika |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Dark brown sugar |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Dark molasses |
3 tablespoons | 45ml | Dry mustard |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Ketchup |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Chile sauce |
3 tablespoons | 45ml | Worcestershire sauce |
10 | Garlic, pressed | |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Minced onion |
1 cup | 198g / 7oz | Butter |
In a 2 cup measure, combine vinegar and water.
Stir in salt, pepper, paprika, brown sugar, molasses and dry mustard.
Set aside to boil over medium/low heat. Stir in vinegar water.
TRANSFER to outside grill and simmer uncovered for an hour or so, stirring from the jar in the refrigerator.
SERVE HOT WITH BARBECUE (this is VERY similar to one served in one of our more popular BARBECUE restaurants.)
