Spicy Barbecue Sauce - 2 Recipe - Cooking Index
1/3 cup | 65g / 2.3oz | Sugar |
1 cup | 62g / 2.2oz | Onion - finely chopped (medium) |
1 1/2 cups | 355ml | Boiling water |
6 oz | 170g | Tomato paste |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Worcestershire sauce |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Vinegar |
1 1/2 teaspoons | 7.5ml | Chili powder |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Dry mustard |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Salt |
In a medium saucepan, cook sugar over medium heat until it beings to melt, shaking pan occasionally (do not stir). Reduce heat to low and add onion. Cook and stir 5 minutes until sugar is golden brown.
Carefully and gradually, add the boiling water, stirring constantly. Whisk in remaining ingredients.
Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer, uncovered for 10-15 minutes or until desired consistency.
Brush sauce onto both sides of ribs during the last 10 minutes of grilling.
