1/2 cup | 164g / 5.8oz | Karo syrup - dark |
1 cup | 237ml | Vinegar - cider |
1 cup | 198g / 7oz | Sugar |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Ketchup |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Onion powder |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Molasses |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Turmeric |
1 oz | 28g | Liquid smoke flavoring - more to taste |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Pepper - coarse ground |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Garlic powder |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Cayenne |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Salt |
3 tablespoons | 45ml | Cornstarch |
2/3 cup | 157ml | Corn oil |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Paprika |
1 | Caramel coloring |
Cook all ingredients except sugar, molasses, and Karo for 15 minutes.
Stir until hot and very well mixed, add in sugars and mix thoroughly. Do not attempt to cook sauce more until well mixed.
Adjust thickness with cornstarch to desired thickness.
