NC Bbq Sauce Recipe - Cooking Index
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Paprika |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Seasoned salt |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Black pepper |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Red pepper - (crushed, not flaked) |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Garlic powder |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Onion powder |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Dry mustard |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Celery salt |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Chili powder |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Cumin |
Mix ingredients, then bring appx 2 cups cider vinegar and 1 cup water to boil, add about 3 - 4 tbsp of the rub to the vinegar/water, and boil for about ten minutes. You may have to experiment with the rub to get it to your taste, but I this tastes most like what folks want when they think about Carolina based marinades. Store the rub and the marinade in the fridge. The rub will keep for months, I make the sauce as I need it.
