He-Man Barbecue Sauce Recipe - Cooking Index
2 1/4 cups | 533ml | Ketchup |
2 1/4 cups | 533ml | Water |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Instant beef broth or cubes |
1 1/4 teaspoons | 6.3ml | Dry mustard |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Chile powder |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Black pepper |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Cayenne powder |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Garlic powder |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Worcestershire sauce |
2 | Liquid hot pepper | |
3 tablespoons | 45ml | Brown sugar |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Lemon juice |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Liquid smoke |
Bring all ingredients to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 15 minutes. If not using immediately, cool and refrigerate. Will keep several weeks. May be frozen in an ice-cube tray and stored as cubes. Makes 1 quart.
NOTES : This stuff was originally called He Man Barbecue Sauce but since I seldom live up to that title, I call it: My Favorite Barbecue Sauce
