Beer And Molasses Barbeque Sauce

Serves: 1 people

Recipe Ingredients

1 1/4 cups 296mlBottled chili sauce
3/4 cup 177mlMild-flavored - (light) molasses
3/4 cup 177mlBeer
2 tablespoons 30mlDijon mustard
2 tablespoons 30mlChili powder
2 teaspoons 10mlSoy sauce
2 teaspoons 10mlHot pepper sauce - (such as Tabasco)
1 1/2 teaspoons 7.5mlFresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon 5mlHickory-flavored liquid smoke

Recipe Instructions

Mix all ingredients in heavy medium saucepan. Bring to boil over medium heat -- stirring occasionally.

Reduce heat -- simmer until sauce thickens and is reduced to 2 cups -- stirring frequently -- about 15 minutes.

Cool completely before using. (Can be made one week ahead. Cover and chill.)

This tangy sauce is great for grilled chicken or spareribs. Build up a shiny glaze by brushing the sauce often over meat -- beginning about 15 minutes from the end of cooking time.
