1 lb | 454g / 16oz | Coleslaw Mix - Prepackaged |
3/4 | Granny Smith apple - peeled and diced | |
2 | Celery - deveined and diced | |
3/4 cup | 46g / 1.6oz | Sweet onions - diced |
Secret Dressing* | ||
1 cup | 237ml | Mayonnaise |
1/3 cup | 65g / 2.3oz | Sugar |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Tarragon vinegar |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Dijon mustard |
1 1/2 teaspoons | 7.5ml | Celery seed |
1 1/2 teaspoons | 7.5ml | Poppy seeds |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Dill weed |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Poultry seasoning |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | White pepper |
Place the pre-packaged (Dole is excellent) 1 lb. slaw mix in a large bowl, add the onion, apple and celery - dice to desired consistency. Combine with the following dressing recipe. Store in an air-tight container.
Hint: Check the expire dates on pre-packaged slaw mixes. The grocer will often place his older stock in the front to "move it." Search around for the date furthest away from the day you shop.
