Fresh Apple Bread Recipe - Cooking Index
1/2 cup | 99g / 3.5oz | Shortening |
1 cup | 198g / 7oz | Sugar |
1 | Egg | |
2 cups | 125g / 4.4oz | Plain flour |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Baking soda |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Cinnamon |
2 cups | 292g / 10oz | Apples - (or more), pared & chopped |
2/3 cup | 97g / 3.4oz | Nuts - chopped |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Cloves - ground |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Salt |
Cream together shortening and sugar. Add egg; beat well. Sift together flour, soda, salt, cloves and cinnamon. Add to shortening mixture; then stir in apples and nuts. Pour into 9" greased loaf pan. Bake 1 hour at 350º
Let stand until cool. Remove bread from pan and sprinkle with confectioner's sugar.
