Fergy's Hot Bbq Sauce Recipe - Cooking Index
1/2 cup | 118ml | Very strong black coffee |
1 cup | 237ml | Ketchup |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Garlic vinegar |
3/4 cup | 177ml | Firmly packed dark brown |
- sugar | ||
1 | Onion; peeled and chopped | |
2 | Garlic - peeled and crushed | |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Dark molasses |
8 | Dried habaneros | |
4 | Dried chipotles | |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Hot dry mustard |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Worcestershire sauce |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Ground cumin |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Chili powder |
Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and simmer over low heat for 20 minutes. Cool, then puree in a blender or food processor until smooth. This can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks in a covered container. Not for the faint of heart!!!
