Chyrel's Kitchen Corn Pone Recipe - Cooking Index

1 cup | 62g / 2.2oz | Cornmeal (white or yellow) |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Baking soda |
Rub in: 2 tbs. margarine, butter or bacon fat (in increasing order of preference) until it is crumb-like
Mix in: 1/3 - 1/2 cup water or milk until it is at a dropping consistency Fry in a hot frying pan by spoonfuls in margarine, butter or bacon fat Good with Maple syrup, honey, jam etc., with or without extra butter!
