Korean Sesame Marinade Recipe - Cooking Index
1 1/2 cups | 355ml | Soy sauce |
5 | Garlic cloves - - (to 6), finely minced | |
3 tablespoons | 45ml | Thinly-sliced green onion |
1/4 cup | 40g / 1.4oz | Packed brown sugar |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Sesame oil |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Roasted sesame seeds |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Maple syrup |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Sugar |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Grated fresh ginger |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Cracked black pepper |
In a large bowl, combine ingredients. Marinade will keep several weeks in refrigerator (indefinitely if you omit green onion).
Use as a marinade and baste for barbecued beef and shrimp.
Marinate thinly sliced sirloin roast overnight in refrigerator, thread on skewers, and grill.
This recipe yields about 2 1/2 cups of marinade.
