Cranberry Compote Recipe - Cooking Index
2 | Granny smith apples - peeled and sliced | |
12 oz | 340g | Cranberries |
1 1/4 cups | 247g / 8.7oz | Sugar |
1 cup | 160g / 5.6oz | Golden raisins |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Orange juice |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Orange zest |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Salt |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Allspice - ground |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Cinnamon - ground |
15 oz | 426g | Sliced peaches - drained |
1 | Apricot halved - drained | |
1 cup | 146g / 5.1oz | Pecan halves - chopped |
For those of you that are sick and tard uv the usual canned cranberry dressing -- here somthin that's gonna make yore belly say Howdy.. Bet my bottom dollar you're gonna like the taste of this'n.. Ole Man Jim
In a saucepan -- combine the first nine ingredients. Bring to a boil then reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 10 minutes -- or until the cranberries pop and the apple slices are tender. Add peaches and apricots -- heat through. Stir in pecans -- serve warm or chilled. Store in refrigerator
Yield: 6 cups
