1/4 cup | 40g / 1.4oz | Packed brown sugar |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Nuts - broken |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Whiskey or brandy |

In a small mixing bowl or wide-mouthed jar stir together sugar, nuts, and whiskey. cover; chill up to 1 week or place in a freezer container and freeze up to 6 months. To serve: if frozen, let sugar mixture stand at room temperature for 1 hour.
Place cheese on a large round ovenproof platter or in a 9" pie plate. Bake at 500F for 4 to 5 minutes or until cheese is slightly softened. Sprinkle sugar mixture over top; bake 2 to 3 minutes or until sugar is melted and cheese is heated through but not melted. Brush apple wedges with lemon juice. Arrange apple wedges, grapes and crackers around cheese. Makes 16 to 20 servings.
Microwave directions: prepare sugar mixture as above. To serve, micro-cook sugar mixture at 100% power about 1 minute or until sugar is melted. Place cheese in a 9" microwave-safe pie plate. Pour sugar mixture over. Micro-cook, uncovered at 50% power about 2 minutes or until cheese is heated through but not melted. Serve as above.
