Stuffed French Bread - 1 Recipe - Cooking Index
8 oz | 227g | Grated sharp cheddar cheese |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Soft butter or margarine |
1 | Crab meat - drained and flaked | |
4 | Green onions - chopped (medium) | |
Mayonnaise - to moisten | ||
3 tablespoons | 45ml | Chopped fresh parsley |
1/4 cup | 36g / 1.3oz | Finely chopped pecans |
1 cup | 237ml | Loaf French bread - sliced lengthwise (large) |
Preheat oven to 350F.
In a food processor or blender, mix the cheese and butter until smooth. Remove enough of the French bread to make a shallow trench in each half. Cover each with cheese mixture.
In a bowl, mix the crab meat and onions with enough mayonnaise to moisten.
Spread over the cheese. Place the bread on a cookie sheet; bake until bubbly, about 15 to 20 minutes.
Sprinkle with parsley and pecans. Cut into serving pieces.
Serve hot.
