Stuffed Chinese Black Mushrooms

Recipe Ingredients

1/4 lb 113g / 4ozFresh tofu
1 lb 454g / 16ozChopped scallion (medium)
2   Garlic cloves - chopped
1/2 teaspoon 2.5mlSesame seeds - toasted
1 teaspoon 5mlOriental sesame oil
2 teaspoons 10mlFresh ground ginger
1 teaspoon 5mlSoy sauce
1 teaspoon 5mlLiquid sweetener
1   Salt
1   Black pepper
1/4 cup 36g / 1.3ozWheat germ or bread crumbs
20 cups 4740mlChinese dried black mushrooms - soaked at least (large) 20
  Cleaned and stemmed

Recipe Instructions

Crush the tofu in a bowl. Mix in all the ingredients except the mushrooms. When the mixture is thoroughly blended, stuff and top the mushrooms with it.

Either grill the stuffed mushrooms for 3-5 minutes on a lightly oiled stovetop grill, or an oiled, very hot, thick-bottomed frying pan, or broil them for 7-9 minutes in the oven.
