1 lb | 454g / 16oz | Chopped scallion (medium) |
2 | Garlic cloves - chopped | |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Sesame seeds - toasted |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Oriental sesame oil |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Fresh ground ginger |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Soy sauce |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Liquid sweetener |
1 | Salt | |
1 | Black pepper | |
1/4 cup | 36g / 1.3oz | Wheat germ or bread crumbs |
20 cups | 4740ml | Chinese dried black mushrooms - soaked at least (large) 20 |
Cleaned and stemmed |
Crush the tofu in a bowl. Mix in all the ingredients except the mushrooms. When the mixture is thoroughly blended, stuff and top the mushrooms with it.
Either grill the stuffed mushrooms for 3-5 minutes on a lightly oiled stovetop grill, or an oiled, very hot, thick-bottomed frying pan, or broil them for 7-9 minutes in the oven.
