Savory Wisconsin Brie Encroute Recipe - Cooking Index
Prepare and refrigerate two or three Wisconsin Brie rounds to be baked and served as your party progresses.
Type: Cheese, Eggs1/2 cup | 73g / 2.6oz | Chopped walnuts - toasted |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Melted butter |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Dried rosemary - crushed |

1 | Refrigerated pie crust pastry | |
1 | Five-inch round Wisconsin brie cheese - - (12 oz) | |
Melted butter - for brushing |
In a bowl, mix together walnuts, butter, rosemary and cayenne. Unfold pastry dough on baking sheet; spoon walnut mixture in center of crust in a 5-inch circle. Place Brie in center of pastry on top of walnut mixture. Fold dough over Brie to center and pinch to seal.
Invert Brie on baking sheet and brush top with melted butter. (Recipe can be prepared to this point and refrigerated up to 2 days until ready to bake.)
Heat oven to 350F. Bake Brie for 15 to 20 minutes or until pastry is browned. Cool to room temperature before serving.
