Savory Party Bread

Recipe Ingredients

1   Round loaf unsliced sourdough bread - (1 pound)
1 lb 454g / 16ozMonterey jack cheese - sliced
1/2 cup 99g / 3.5ozButter or margarine - melted
1/2 cup 31g / 1.1ozChopped green onions
3 teaspoons 15mlPoppy seeds - optional

Recipe Instructions

Cut the bread lengthwise and crosswise without cutting through the bottom crust (this bread resembles a blooming onion after it's cut). Insert cheese between cuts.

Combine butter, onions and poppy seeds; drizzle over the bread. Wrap in foil; place on a baking sheet.

Bake at 350F for 15 minutes.

Uncover; bake 10 minutes longer or until the cheese is melted.
