1/2 lb | 227g / 8oz | Chickpea flour (Besan) |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Salt |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Red chile powder |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Coriander seeds - powder |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Baking soda |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Black pepper |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Egg - beaten (medium) |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Onion - chopped fine (medium) |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Potato - cut into 1/4" cubes (large) |
Oil for deep frying | ||
Water - to make paste | ||
Optional ingredients: | ||
Spinach, eggplant, cabbage, fresh chiles |
Mix all dry ingredients in a bowl and add enough water to make a paste. Mix well.
Take spoonful at a time from the bowl of paste and deep fry it in hot oil until golden brown.
