Peanut Beef Bundles

Recipe Ingredients

2 tablespoons 30mlSoy sauce
2 tablespoons 30mlRice wine
2 teaspoons 10mlGinger juice
  Salt
  Pepper
1 lb 454g / 16ozRound steak - sliced into 1/4-inch wide strips
1/3 lb 151g / 5.3ozCrushed unsalted peanuts
4 tablespoons 60mlCorn starch
1 tablespoon 15mlWater
3 cups 711mlPeanut oil - for deep-frying
  Lettuce leaves

Recipe Instructions

Mix the first five ingredients together. Marinade the sliced steak in the seasoning liquid for 15 minutes; drain completely.

Heat 3 cups peanut oil in wok on high.

Combine the corn starch and water. Dip the steak slices into the 'batter' and then 'bread' with slices with a crushed peanut coating.

Deep-fry the steak slices a handful at a time. Drain on paper towling and keep warm until all the slices have been deep-fried.

Serve the beef in individual portions on lettuce leaves.
