1/2 cup | 80g / 2.8oz | Brown sugar - packed |
1/2 cup | 164g / 5.8oz | Dark corn syrup |
1/4 cup | 49g / 1.7oz | Blue bonnet margarine |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Salt |
6 cups | 240g / 8.5oz | Cheerios cereal |
1 cup | 146g / 5.1oz | Pecan halves - walnut halves or peanuts |
1/2 cup | 46g / 1.6oz | Slivered almonds |
Heat oven to 325F.
Butter jelly roll pan, 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1-inch. Heat brown sugar, corn syrup, margarine, and salt in 3-quart saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly, until sugar is dissolved, about 5 minutes; remove from heat.
Stir in cereal and nuts until well coated. Spread mixture in pan.
Bake 15 minutes.
Cool 10 minutes; loosen mixture with metal spatula. Let stand until firm, about 1 hour.
Store in covered container. About 8 cups snack.
