Norwegian Sardine Pate Recipe - Cooking Index
1 | Cream cheese - softened | |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Salt |
1 1/2 tablespoons | 22ml | Fresh lemon or lime juice |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Freshly ground black pepper |
2 | Norwegian sardines - drained | |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Chopped fresh parsley |
1/8 teaspoon | 0.6ml | Tabasco sauce |
Capers - for garnish | ||
Additional chopped parsley - for garnish |
Cream together the first 4 ingredients. Mash sardines and beat into cheese mixture with parsley and Tabasco.
Form into a mound or desired shape. Garnish with capers and parsley.
Serve with toast fingers, bread or crackers.
Makes 2 cups.
