Mushrooms Stuffed With Hamburger Recipe - Cooking Index
1 1/2 lbs | 681g / 24oz | Very lean ground beef |
1 1/2 teaspoons | 7.5ml | Salt - , or to taste |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Garlic - , minced |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Freshly ground black pepper |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Dried thyme |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Water |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Ketchup |
24 cups | 5688ml | Fresh mushrooms - , stems removed (large) |
Melted butter or margarine |
Combine the beef with the salt, garlic, pepper, thyme, water and ketchup. Season the mushrooms by dipping them in melted butter and sprinkling lightly with salt and pepper.
Place them open-side-up in a greased shallow pan. Stuff them generously with the ground beef mixture.
Broil for about 5 minutes (or to your taste). Serve hot. Can be topped with a dab of mustard or sour cream.
