Bean Stew Recipe - Cooking Index
1/2 cup | 118ml | Olive oil |
2 | Onions - chopped | |
4 | Garlic cloves | |
2 lbs | 908g / 32oz | Runner beans - trimmed & |

1 lb | 454g / 16oz | Tomatoes - chopped |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Sugar |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Salt |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Black pepper |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Basil |
2 cups | 474ml | Stock |
Heat oil in a pot & fry the onion for 2 minutes. add garlic & fry together. Add the rest of the ingredients & the seasonings. Mix together well. Fry for 5 minutes. Add stock. Simmer till the beans are tender. Serve hot or cold.
