Malayan Curried Fish Bites Recipe - Cooking Index
1 lb | 454g / 16oz | Cod - fresh or frozen |
Salt and pepper to taste | ||
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Lemon juice |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Crushed red pepper |
8 | Peppercorns | |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Coriander |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Cumin |
1 | Garlic clove - minced | |
1 | White onion (small) | |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Turmeric or curry powder |
1 cup | 237ml | Coconut milk |
Cut cod into 3/4 inch squares. Sprinkle with salt, pepper and lemon juice.
Grind to a paste (in mortar or electric blender) the red pepper, peppercorns, coriander, cumin, garlic, onion and turmeric (or curry powder) with about 1 tablespoon Coconut milk; add to remaining milk.
Cook the fish in the Coconut milk about 10 minutes, until fish flakes easily. Serve fish bites warm or cold from the sauce.
