Jamie's Biscuits

Courses: Starters and appetizers
Serves: 1 people

Recipe Ingredients

2 cups 220g / 7.8ozBisquick baking mix
1/2 cup 118mlSour cream
1/2 cup 118ml7-up¨
  Butter

Recipe Instructions

Mix the sour cream with a fork into the Bisquick. Add the 7-Up. Mix until the dough is thoroughly blended (sticky). Roll the dough out onto a board floured with Bisquick. Don't knead it more than a couple of time.

Melt some butter (NOT MARGARINE) in a baking pan and put your cut biscuits in the pan. Bake at 450F until brown (about 10 to 20 minutes depending on your oven.) When the biscuits are about halfway baked (risen, but not yet brown) pour some more melted butter over them. I'd like to tell you how much, but this goes by taste too. I use about 1 stick of butter for the entire recipe (pan melting and pouring over). Others use more, others use less.

NOTES : I too had trouble with homemade biscuits, until I learned the "secret" recipe used by Popeye's chicken restaurants down here. They are not "authentic" homemade, but they are can't miss, and exquisite in taste and texture.
