1/2 cup | 46g / 1.6oz | Minced cooked cabbage |
1/2 cup | 31g / 1.1oz | Minced onion |
6 | Garlic - minced | |
1 1/2 teaspoons | 7.5ml | Finely grated fresh ginger |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Crushed dried hot chiles - or more to taste |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Five-spice powder |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Brown sugar - or more to taste |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Cornstarch |
1 | Egg | |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Soy sauce |
4 | Green onions and tops - minced fine | |
1/4 cup | 23g / 0.8oz | Minced fresh parsley |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Coarsely ground black pepper - or more to taste |
Oil for frying |
In a large bowl mix together thoroughly all ingredients except oil. Make a small a patty and fry in a bit of oil to test for seasonings. Add more chiles, pepper, or sugar to taste and test again.
