Hot Cheese Balls Recipe - Cooking Index
1/2 lb | 227g / 8oz | Grated parmesan cheese |
1 | Cream cheese - softened | |
2 | Eggs | |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Salt |
1 | Cayenne pepper | |
1 cup | 146g / 5.1oz | Fresh bread crumbs - (2 slices) |
Peanut oil - for frying |
1. In medium bowl, combine both cheeses, eggs, salt, and cayenne. Beat with wooden spoon until smooth. Form into 1-inch balls.
2. On waxed paper, roll each lightly in bread crumbs. Refrigerate.
3. In deep skillet or deep-fat fryer, slowly heat oil (about 2 inches) to 350F on deep frying thermometer. Fry cheese balls, turning once, 1 minute, or until golden brown. Drain on paper towel. Serve hot.
Makes 30.
