Curry Puff Recipe - Cooking Index
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Curry powder |
6 oz | 170g | Chicken breast |
2 oz | 56g | Potatoes (large) |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Salt |
1 | Onion - chopped | |
12 oz | 340g | Plain flour |
1 | Egg | |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Oil |
8 tablespoons | 120ml | Cold water |
Oil to deep fry |
Boil the potatoes and leave to cool. Once cool cut into 1/2 inch cubes.
Slice the uncooked chicken and cut into 1/2-inch cubes.
Heat the oil and fry the onion adding the chicken. Stir until chicken is cooked. Add in the curry powder, stir and add in the potatoes and salt. Stir in evenly for 5 minutes. Leave to cool.
Sieve the flour in a bowl and add the egg, water and the oil and knead until smooth. Rest the dough in the refrigerator, until you are ready to use it and that the filling is cold.
Divide the dough into small even balls. Roll the balls into round circles and fill with one tablespoon of the filling then fold it into a semi circle. Pleat the edge with a fork.
Heat oil and fry in medium heat until cooked and golden brown.
