Meat tenderizer | ||
Favorite barbecue sauce | ||
1/2 cup | 118ml | Dry red wine |
1 | Baguette French bread - sliced | |
Butter | ||
Minced garlic | ||
Chopped fresh parsley | ||
Lemon leaves and parsley sprigs - for garnish |
Sprinkle both sides of flank steak with meat tenderizer. Stab thoroughly with a fork. Spread both sides with your favorite barbecue sauce and place in a plastic bag. Add red wine, seal bag, and marinate, refrigerated, overnight. Broil under high heat 2" from heat source, 5 to 7 minutes on each side.
Refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
Make garlic bread by combining butter, garlic and parsley, then spreading on baguette slices. Toast under broiler.
When meat is well-chilled, slice very thin against the grain. Arrange slices on one side of a platter. On the other side, arrange garlic bread slices. Place a toothpick container in the center of the platter and garnish with lemon leaves and parsley sprigs if desired.
