2 tablespoons | 30ml | Vanaspati |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Mustard oil |
2 | Red chiles | |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Cumin seeds |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Onions - minced (small) |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Red chile powder |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Turmeric |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Garam masala powder |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Sugar |
Salt - to taste | ||
1 | Ginger - (1-inch) | |
1 | Tomato - cut in large chunks (small) | |
3 cups | 711ml | Water |
Boil potatoes. Peel potatoes and cut into equal pieces. Heat oil in pan. When it smokes, put in chiles and cumin seed. Add onion and fry it until brown.
Add chile powder, turmeric, garam masala, sugar, salt, ginger and potato pieces. Keep stirring for 5-7 minutes. Add tomato and 1 cup water. Cook on medium heat until water absorbed. Serve with fluffy puris.
