Sweet & Sour Lentils With Brown Rice Recipe - Cooking Index
1/2 cup | 118ml | Dry lentils |
3 cups | 711ml | Water |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Vinegar |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Honey |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Tamari |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Grated ginger |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Water |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Cornstarch |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Onion - sliced (small) |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Oil |
4 | Celery sliced diagonally |
Bring water to a boil & cook lentils for 25 minutes.
Drain & set aside. combine vinegar, honey, tamari, ginger & water. Bring to a boil. mix cornstarch with a little water & add to sauce. Saute onion in oil till soft.
Add pieces of celery & cook for 5 minutes over medium heat. Add lentils, mix well. Add sauce, simmer 5 minutes. Serve over rice.
