1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Salt |
1 cup | 198g / 7oz | Shortening |
6 tablespoons | 90ml | Water |

1 tablespoon | 15ml | Vinegar |
Filling | ||
4 | Eggs | |
1 1/2 cups | 355ml | Half & half |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Butter - melted |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Flour |
1 | Spinach -or- broccoli | |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Salt |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Pepper |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Horseradish |
4 tablespoons | 60ml | Sour cream |
1/2 cup | 73g / 2.6oz | Grated swiss/cheddar cheese |
3 tablespoons | 45ml | Parmesan cheese |
Crust:
Mix flour and salt together, add shortening until crumbly. Add water, vinegar and egg. Mix all together and roll out for a single crust and line a 9" pie plate. Bake in a preheated 450oF oven for 12 minutes.
Filling:
Blend the first 4 ingredients together. Add remaining ingredients. Pour into shell. Reduce heat to 375oF and bake 40 minutes.
