Spicy Spinach

Recipe Ingredients

3 lbs 1362g / 48ozChopped fresh spinach
3 lbs 1362g / 48ozTurnips - cubed (medium)
2 cups 474mlWater
1/4 cup 59mlGhee
1 tablespoon 15mlBlack mustard seeds
1 tablespoon 15mlOnion - chopped (large)
6   Garlic - chopped
1   Ginger - (1 inch), chopped
1 tablespoon 15mlTurmeric
1/2 teaspoon 2.5mlRed chiles
1 tablespoon 15mlGaram masala
  Salt

Recipe Instructions

Boil spinach and turnips in water for 12 to 15 minutes. remove and set in a bowl. Mash with a fork. Rinse the pot and heat the ghee. Add mustard seeds and a few seconds later add the onion, garlic and ginger. Cook until the onion is browned. Add turmeric, chile, garam masala and salt.

Stir in the mashed vegetables. Cover and simmer for 5 minutes until all the liquid has evaporated, stirring occasionally. Serve.
