Old Fashioned Baked Beans

I just dumped everything on top of the beans and stirred them; then covered them with hot tap water. They took a lot longer than 10 hours to cook, but that might have been due to too-low heat on the crockpot.

Recipe Ingredients

1 lb 454g / 16ozGreat northern or small
2 lbs 908g / 32ozMixed beans - great
  Northern white beans
  Romans - and random mix.
1 teaspoon 5mlSalt - (omitted)
1 teaspoon 5mlDry mustard
2 teaspoons 10mlDry mustard
1/2 teaspoon 2.5mlFresh ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon 2.5mlBlack pepper from a bottle
1   Hot sauce
1 teaspoon 5mlHot chili - (heaping)
  Condiment
1/2 cup 31g / 1.1ozChopped onion
1 1/2 cups 93g / 3.3ozCoarse chopped onion
1/4 cup 59mlMolasses or honey
1/2 cup 118mlHoney - (scant)
1/4 cup 40g / 1.4ozBrown sugar
8 teaspoons 40mlWhite sugar
1/4 cup 59mlCider vinegar
1/2 cup 118mlWhite vinegar

Recipe Instructions

Presoak beans. Drain. Combine dry ingredients and mix with beans; stir in other ingredients. Pour into 1 1/2 qt. or 2 qt. baking dish or bean pot.

[Obviously, if you double the recipe like I did, you'll need a bigger pot :-] Pour in boiling water to cover. Cover. Bake at 300F for 6 hours; add a bit of boiling water if needed. (Crock-pot method: cook on low 8-10 hours.)
