Honey Mustard Sauce | ||
1/4 cup | 59ml | Honey - liquid |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Soy sauce |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Mustard - dijon |
Brown Sugar Glaze Variation | ||
1/2 cup | 80g / 2.8oz | Brown sugar - packed |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Butter - 2 tbsp water |
cut off tops and botoms of onions, remove skin. Place onions in saucepan and add enough water to come to depth of 1". Cover and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium and cook for 30 minutes. Drain and transfer onions to small greased casserole.
Honey-Mustard Sauce: In small saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce and mustard; cook over medium heat, stirring for 5 minutes. Pour over onions and bake, uncovered in 350F oven, basting occaisionally, for 30 to 40 minutes till heated through and glazed. Cut each onion in half to serve.
Variation: Brown Sugar Glaze. In small saucepan, combine 1/2 cup brown sugar, 2 Tbsp butter and 2 Tbsp water, cook as above and pour over onions before baking.
