Fruited Rice W/ Mushrooms & Almonds Recipe - Cooking Index
| 2 cups | 320g / 11oz | Basmati rice uncooked | 
| 1/2 cup | 73g / 2.6oz | Diced dried apples | 
| 1/2 cup | 73g / 2.6oz | Diced dried apricots | 
| 1/2 cup | 73g / 2.6oz | Dried dates chopped | 
| 1/2 cup | 80g / 2.8oz | Raisins | 
| 1/2 cup | 73g / 2.6oz | Prunes pitted and chopped | 
| 1/2 cup | 46g / 1.6oz | Slivered almonds | 
| 1 cup | 237ml | Mushrooms fresh sliced | 
| 1 teaspoon | 5ml | Salt | 
| 1 teaspoon | 5ml | Cinnamon ground | 
| Water as needed for rice | 
Put water into a large pot and bring to a boil. Add rice, stir, and reduce heat. Add the fruits & salt. cook for 15 minutes on Medium heat. Add remaining ingredients, stir, cover and continue for balance of cooking time. Stir as needed. Note: This dish may be served as a meatless main dish or as a side dish for poultry, fish, or beef. It is especially good with veal.
