Favorite Mashed Potatoes Recipe - Cooking Index
2 1/2 lbs | 1135g / 40oz | Potatoes - peeled and quartered |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Milk |
1/4 cup | 49g / 1.7oz | Butter |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Fresh chopped basil or 1/2 teaspoon dried basil |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Onion powder |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Garlic powder |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Salt |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Black pepper |
Place the potatoes in a large pot filled three quarters-full with water; cover and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce the heat to medium-low and cook for 20 minutes, or until the potatoes are fork-tender. Drain and place in a large bowl. Add the remaining ingredients and mash with a fork or potato masher. Serve immediately.
