2 cups | 292g / 10oz | Chopped shrimp |
1 cup | 237ml | Napa cabbage |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Minced ginger |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Sesame oil |
1 | Egg | |
1/4 cup | 36g / 1.3oz | Chopped scallions |
1/4 cup | 4g / 0.1oz | Chopped cilantro |
1/2 cup | 73g / 2.6oz | Finely-diced jicama |
Salt - to taste | ||
Freshly-ground white pepper - to taste | ||
6 | Dried bread - crust removed | |
1/4 cup | 27g / 1oz | Sesame seeds |
Canola oil |
In a food processor, puree first 5 ingredients. Check for seasoning. Fold in scallions, cilantro and jicama. Spread the mixture on bread, cut in half on the diagonal and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Heat a deep fryer to 375 degrees and fry until golden brown.
This recipe yields 6 slices.
