Peppery Pecan Pie Recipe - Cooking Index
Prepared pie crust for one 9" pie | ||
3 | Eggs (large) | |
1 cup | 328g / 11oz | Dark corn syrup |
1/2 cup | 80g / 2.8oz | Dark brown sugar |
1/4 cup | 49g / 1.7oz | Butter or margarine - melted |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Tabasco pepper sauce |
1 1/2 cups | 219g / 7.7oz | Pecans - coarsely chopped |
Whipped Cream - (optional) |
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Place pie crust in 9-inch pie plate; make decorative edge.
In large bowl, beat eggs slightly. Add dark corn syrup, dark brown sugar, melted butter and Tabasco pepper sauce. Place pecans in prepared pie crust; pour filling over pecans. Bake pie 15 minutes.
Reduce oven to 350 degrees. Bake pie 40 minutes longer or until knife inserted 1 inch from edge comes out clean. Cool pie on wire rack. Serve with whipped cream if desired.
This recipe yields 8 servings.
