Sour Cream Cardamom Waffles Recipe - Cooking Index
1 cup | 62g / 2.2oz | All-purpose flour |
1/4 cup | 49g / 1.7oz | Granulated sugar |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Baking powder |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Ground cardamom |
1 | Salt | |
2/3 cup | 157ml | Milk |
2/3 cup | 157ml | Sour cream |
1/4 cup | 49g / 1.7oz | Butter or margarine - (1/2 stick) - melted |
2 | Eggs - separated |
In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, cardamom and salt. Combine milk, sour cream, butter and egg yolks; stir into dry ingredients just until combined. Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form; fold into batter.
Bake in a preheated waffle iron according to manufacturer's directions until golden brown (waffles will be soft). Serve with honey or syrup.
Yield: 6 (6 1/2-inch) waffles.
