Prunes In Red Wine Recipe - Cooking Index
This is elegant served over vanilla ice cream.
Type: Fruit2 cups | 474ml | Dry red wine such as zinfandel |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Honey |
6 cups | 1422ml | Pitted dried prunes |
1 | Vanilla bean |
Combine wine and honey in large saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Lower heat to medium. Add prunes; simmer, covered, 20 minutes.
Spoon into heat-proof container. Add vanilla bean. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Reheat or serve chilled. Remove vanilla bean before serving.
Yield: 12 servings.
