Chocolate Buttercream Recipe - Cooking Index
4 | Unsweetened chocolate - (1 oz) | |
1/2 cup | 99g / 3.5oz | Butter or margarine - (1 stick) - softened |
4 cups | 792g / 27oz | Sifted powdered sugar - sift then measure |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Salt |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Vanilla |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Milk |
Melt chocolate over hot water or in the microwave oven. Set aside until cool.
Combine butter, sugar, salt, vanilla and milk. With a mixing spoon or on low speed of an electric mixer, beat until smooth. Add melted chocolate; beat until thick enough to spread. If necessary, add more milk for proper spreading consistency.
