Mississippi Fried Oysters Recipe - Cooking Index

2 | Eggs - beaten | |
2 cups | 125g / 4.4oz | Cornmeal |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Sugar |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Salt |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Pepper |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Flour |
Drain oysters and soak in eggs. Mix cornmeal, sugar, salt, pepper and flour.
Dip oysters in cornmeal mixture and fry in deep shortening until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
