Herbed-And-Sweetened Shrimp

Serves: 4 people

Recipe Ingredients

1/3 cup 78mlWater
2 tablespoons 30mlDark brown sugar
2 tablespoons 30mlMinced peeled gingerroot
1 tablespoon 15mlFish sauce
1/2 teaspoon 2.5mlCracked pepper
2   Garlic - minced
1 lb 454g / 16ozLarge shrimp - peeled and deveined
3 tablespoons 45mlThinly sliced fresh basil
1/2 teaspoon 2.5mlFresh lime juice
3 cups 711mlHot cooked jasmine or
  Other long-grain white rice

Recipe Instructions

Combine first 6 ingredients in a large nonstick skillet; stir well.

Place over high heat, and cook 5 minutes or until mixture is slightly thickened.

Add shrimp; cook 3 minutes or until shrimp is done, stirring constantly.

Remove from heat; stir in basil and lime juice.
