Chili Shrimp - 1 Recipe - Cooking Index
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Vegetable oil |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Chopped garlic |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Grated ginger |
2 lbs | 908g / 32oz | Peeled large shrimp |
4 | Scallions - trimmed and sliced | |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Sherry |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Chicken stock |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Chili garlic paste - (or more to taste) |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Corn starch stirred into 1 tablespoon ice water |

1. Heat the oil in a large frying pan. Sautee the garlic and ginger. Add scallions and soften.
2. Add the shrimp and toss until pink (about 4 minutes). Remove from pan.
3. Add rest of ingredients to pan and mix with browned garlic, etc., to make a sauce. Cook, stirring, for one minute.
4. Mix in cornstarch mixture. Cook, stirring, one minute.
5. Add shrimp back in and heat through (about one minute).
PRESENTATION SUGGESTIONS: Serve Shrimp and sauce over White Rice.
SERVES: 4 to 6
